About 2½ years ago, I had the opportunity to work with an incredible woman while she was still a student in Toronto — Dr. Ashley Margeson. She graduated as a Naturopathic Doctor about 18 months ago, and what is truly amazing is that she’s really taken the world by storm. Now, I wasn’t surprised by this at all — but what I find so fascinating is to really delve into the journey she’s had since graduating. She has accomplished so much and has several initiatives on the go.

Ashley is an incredible entrepreneur whom I respect deeply; she is someone who has been consistent in her ability to try new things, be willing to fail, and confidently move forward while inspiring others.

This episode, we get into her hacks of entrepreneurism, how to get through the flights and expedite your sense of recovery when you land on the other side, how to keep going as a female entrepreneur and craft your environment to help support your momentum — as well as accelerating your growth! Ashley also shares the three important questions you need to ask yourself to help set yourself up for success and achieve your goals.

Key Takeaways:

[1:35] About my incredible guest today, Dr. Ashley Margeson

[3:13] What Ashley has been up to since her graduation.

[5:32] What is helping Ashley right now — as we speak — to help keep her going!

[6:20] What is in this IV Ashley is hooked up to and how they leverage IV therapy at Cornerstone Naturopathic.

[7:34] How an IV therapy can help you before travel.

[9:51] How do we support women as entrepreneurs?

[12:50] Set yourself up for success by figuring out your answers to these three, important questions.

[27:04] How Ashley is crafting her environment to help support her momentum.

[29:26] About Ashley’s current initiatives and her views on persevering through failures.

[36:34] What Ashley would like her legacy to be.

[38:50] Dr. Ashley Margeson’s key performance indicators!

[48:00] Where to follow and find Ashley online.

This week’s call to action is to stop trying to do it ‘all’. Just because you can do it, doesn’t mean you have to do it. What is one thing in your life or business that you can start saying ‘no’ to or can delegate to someone else? Hiring an assistant? Subscribing to a healthy meal delivery? Whatever it is, share your commitment on our Entrepology Podcast facebook page. Because when you are accountable, you are helpable.

I’ll be honest — it’s hard being an entrepreneur and having three kids. I think it’s hard being an entrepreneur and having any kids — but with three right now at 2, 4, and 6, there is chaos behind the scenes. Because of this, I tend to gravitate toward the female entrepreneurs on social media that seem to have found the balance between family and putting positive energy out into the universe as an entrepreneur.

And one of those such people is Dr. Rachel Schwartzman — a naturopathic doctor who practices here in Toronto. She has a series of initiatives out there in the world that are having a really tremendous, positive impact on families. She is one of the co-founders of West End Naturopathic Doulas where she is a naturopathic doctor working with families. She is also the co-creator to The Bump to Baby Show — a family-friendly event that really takes families through the journey of parenthood — from pregnancy, right into that young family phase.

We talked in this interview about entrepreneurism, how to manage picky eaters, common health misconceptions that are holding families back, and what Rachel is drinking right now to get her through this very busy time right now (two weeks before launch phase!) and how she keeps going on going as an entrepreneur.

Key Takeaways:

[1:37] Introducing my guest for this week, Dr. Rachel Schwartzman!

[5:28] Was the naturopathic college Rachel attended what she had expected?

[6:14] What Rachel is currently up to!

[6:57] Why Rachel loves working with and treating children.

[8:22] How much does mindset play into an individual’s ability to achieve an outcome with respect to their health?

[9:32] In looking at children’s health, where did Rachel’s conviction to support maternal and child wellness come from?

[12:35] Where Rachel’s strong entrepreneurial thinking came from.

In the spirit of badass, I have re-invited a guest for the first time ever on this podcast. I’m really excited to sit down again with my very dear old friend, Jen Oliver.
