My guest today, Lisa Goldberg, is a nutritionist with a specific expertise in understanding the mind-body connection to eating. As a weight loss coach, she speaks a lot about emotional eating in her practice. And today, we are really going to unpack the many different facets and features that we need to address if we’re going to start to break the cycle of emotional eating.

For people who have experienced diets on and off their entire lives, this interview is entirely for you. Not only do we talk about the mindset pieces that need to be in place to break the pattern of how we are eating and how we are engaging in our relationship with food, but we also start to break down some of the tactics, techniques, and conversation starters as we engage with our family of origin with respect to how we are eating and how we are choosing to honor ourselves going forward.

Lisa’s philosophy is really simple: it’s not about having a specific diet to lose weight; it’s about addressing your relationship with food. If this is something that you’ve always been curious about, I promise you will not be disappointed in today’s conversation!

Two years ago, someone asked me what supplements I take to maintain my health, energy, and edge and they were surprised that I only took four things consistently. For myself and my patients, there are four basics that support — at a foundational level — nearly every system in our bodies. In my quest for the highest quality ingredients and the easiest system for consistently incorporating supplementation to my routine, I formulated and manufactured my own line of foundational supplements. Trusted for myself and my patients, and under the guidance of your own healthcare provider, I’m excited to invite you to check out our foundational product line: Badass Basics. Lisa and I are challenging you this week to explore your relationship with food and eating. Are you eating when you are hungry? Or is it in response to boredom? Do you stop eating when you’re content? Or do you only stop when you are stuffed? These can be tough questions to ask but recognizing your behaviors and patterns are amazing first steps! Let us know how it goes by joining the conversation over on The Entrepology Collective!

In the weeks leading up to this 200th milestone, I’ve been reflecting on what some of the commonalities are in terms of the messaging of our guests. Dec 1, 2020

Recently, we wrapped up our annual event, Impact LIVEs. And this year’s was just a bit different than previous years’. We needed to create an incredible three-day event — but online — and without making it feel like a regular Zoom experience. And in the year 2020, where things don’t go always go according to plan, this experience of building Impact LIVEs stretched me way outside my comfort zone.

Now several days post-Impact LIVEs, I’ve had the time to reflect on the lessons I’ve learned — and I want to share these all with you! These are the 10 core lessons I’ve learned about myself, my team, and the benefits of stepping way outside your comfort zone.

Key Takeaways:

[:40] About a recent experience where I stepped way outside my comfort zone.

[3:58] Why I am sharing this experience with all of you.

[4:50] The 10 core lessons I learned coming out of this.

[5:16] The first thing I learned: when we’re far outside of our comfort zone, you stop caring about what other people think.

[6:26] The second thing I learned: you need to make room to recover.

[7:45] #3: You need to manifest like a mofo!

[9:45] #4: You need to control your state.

[11:32] #5: You are nothing without your team.

[13:01] #6: You have to take care of your health.

[13:40] #7: You need to focus on the possibility.

[15:31] #8: There is a power to getting curious about your feelings.

[18:31] #9: You should copy other people’s excellence.

[20:05] #10: You can’t wait for confidence.

[21:18] Lessons learned in 2020 and looking onwards to 2021.

[22:28] What lessons have you learned in 2020? Let’s carry this conversation over on our free Facebook group, The Entrepology Collective!
