Today’s episode is meant to serve as a bit of a wake-up call! So obviously, if you’ve been hanging out with us for any amount of time, you know that I really love business — but I lead from a place of health!

My guest today is a business strategist and coach who is really talking about your business as the root cause of what is going wrong in your health. Holly Chantal is a strategist who helps people take their business to the next level! But what she also has is an incredible lens and capacity to understand where your business itself is wearing you thin.

In today’s episode, you’re going to learn that it’s not that you have to scale back or that you can’t dream big; but that there are strategies, techniques, and opportunities to shift how you are placing your business and work out into the world!

Once you find a little bit of your flow in your business it should get easier. If it is not becoming more simple for you and is not creating more ease in your life, then consider this an opportunity to shift your perspective! We’re not telling you to slow down or to go back to your day job; what we are doing is channeling a message from the universe that is telling you that there is an opportunity to change how you’re growing your business!

[19:14] Discussing that critical moment of being taken ‘out of the game’ as an entrepreneur.

[22:45] Holly speaks about a key component in her toolbox: her ‘perpetual growth model’; how can we continue to grow our business and contribution while also navigating this idea of balance!

More About Holly Chantal

Holly Chantal is a Business Coach and Brand Strategist who has been honing her craft since 2009! She helps experienced business owners who have hit their “upper limit” by helping them figure out what is next and bring their brand, business model, and marketing systems into alignment with their next level of growth.

Holly starts this whole process by helping business owners get clear on what it is they truly want in their business (which is often not what they think!), and by uncovering where their limiting beliefs and subconscious blocks are that are sabotaging their efforts. Then, she helps by reverse-engineering a path for bringing their current business to its next evolution without alienating their audience or imploding what is already working!

Since starting her business, Holly has created over 200 brands from idea to launch including copywriting, website design, and marketing strategy; has managed up to 20 website design projects at once and kept them on time and on budget; has made changes to a client’s messaging strategy that resulted in a $25,000 increase in revenue that month; created a brand positioning strategy for a client that moved them from six-figures in revenue to seven-figures within a year; produced content for videos and blogs that resulted in a 100% increase in traffic; and much, much more!

BADASS FUEL — Fuel for Badass Women

Scientifically Supported Ingredients | Support, Not Replacement | Non-GMO

Two years ago, someone asked me what supplements I take to maintain my health, energy, and edge and they were surprised that I only took four things consistently. For myself and my patients, there are four basics that support — at a foundational level — nearly every system in our bodies. In my quest for the highest quality ingredients and the easiest system for consistently incorporating supplementation to my routine, I formulated and manufactured my own line of foundational supplements. Trusted for myself and my patients, and under the guidance of your own healthcare provider, I’m excited to invite you to check out our foundational product line: Badass Basics. CALL TO ACTION

Holly and I are challenging you to take the ‘Yeah, but…’ challenge! If you have a goal,  an idea, or something you really want in your business but as soon as you think of it you go, ‘Yeah, but…’ It’s time to change your perspective! Whatever those objections are that come up for you, it’s time to play with them and look at it from different angles! Write down these objections and journal about them. Ask yourself, ‘Is that true?’ and ‘Have other people done it?’ and ‘What are some ways I could get around that challenge?’ … See what comes up for you until you get to what the reality is of what you’re really dealing with! Once you find that out, it’s time to work on that piece.

Remember: you can have, be, do whatever you want! And be sure to let us know how this goes for you and follow-up with us on The Entrepology Podcast Facebook page because when you’re accountable, you’re helpable!

My guest today is an expert in a really particular field: concussions. And before you stop and go, ‘This is not relevant to me,’ let me tell you that within our lifetime, either you or I (or someone very close to us) will likely experience a concussion. And that old wisdom that we learned when we were young — that you should put someone to bed and wake them up every hour to manage that concussion — is really old news!

Melissa Biscardi is a registered neuroscience nurse, osteopathic therapist, and a concussion specialist. She’s also a member of our business mastermind called the Clinician Code!

I really wanted Melissa to join us today specifically talk to us about the latest research with respect to concussions and what we should all do post-concussion. What I want everyone to be armed with is the exact formulation of what you need to be doing and looking for, should you — or someone you know — experience a concussion. Head injuries can happen at a moment’s notice. It’s not something that’s reserved for athletes — it can simply happen as we move through our day-to-day lives! And knowing how to react and respond when that situation emerges makes an absolute difference in both your short and long-term health. In fact, Melissa goes over some of the research in this episode related to how concussions can actually impact women’s menstrual cycles and their post-partum period up to 10 years later!

Not only is the information presented in this episode super important, but Melissa is also equally entertaining! Be sure to tune in for this highly informative episode!

Key Takeaways:

[1:04] About today’s episode and guest!

[2:51] Welcoming Melissa Biscardi to the podcast!

[4:08] Melissa shares her story and how she came to enter the health field.

[6:01] What was it about concussions that drew Melissa in?

[7:07] Melissa defines what a concussion is.

[8:30] Does every time someone hits their head qualify as a potential concussion? And after a head injury occurs, what should we be doing immediately following it?

[10:23] Why has the advice around concussions vastly changed?

[10:53] Does the advice really vary depending on the concussion and patient?

[11:31] Who should people be seeking care from post-concussion?

[12:56] What does Melissa do with patients that seek her care post-concussion?

[14:18] Food and drinks: Melissa’s dos and don’ts!

[15:20] The differences between men and women as it pertains to concussions.

[18:12] How does Melissa’s treatment differ when she works with someone who has had an injury within a relatively short time span vs. someone who had their injury a long time ago but hasn’t necessarily fully recovered?

[19:44] Is there a difference in treatment for adults vs. kids during the post-concussion period? And do kids recover faster?

[20:37] Melissa shares what prolongs the recovery of a concussion.

[23:06] The important piece lifestyle plays in recovery of a concussion.

[24:32] The influence of technology in one’s recovery post-concussion.

[26:02] What does Melissa see in the world today that could vastly improve our health if we just stopped doing it?

[28:34] Melissa’s key-performance indicators!

[31:19] Where to learn more about what Melissa is up to!

On the Entrepology Podcast, we talk a lot about fitness and exercise. And on the other side of the coin, we also explore a lot on the themes of meditation and spiritual exploration. But how often do you think of the integration of these two things together?

I think that sometimes meditation and mindfulness get a bad rap. We think we need to sit there with complete absence in our mind — but frankly, that couldn’t be any further from the truth. What I would love to hear from you this week is about your own journey with meditation and mindfulness. What have you done this week to, at least twice, engage in a mindfulness practice? This might be anything from climbing the side of a mountain, going for a morning walk, or sitting in silence for a minute.
